How We Review

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Filtered Water Wise is a research-based review site. We want you to know exactly how our reviews are put together, and what they are not.

What our reviews are based on

  • Manufacturer information: product specifications, manuals and the claims made by the brand, such as filter capacity, flow rate and replacement intervals.
  • Certifications: whether a product is listed as certified to standards such as NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 or 401. Certification status can change, so we recommend checking the certifier’s public listings before you buy.
  • Verified buyer feedback: recurring themes in feedback from verified buyers, summarised in our own words. We do not copy or quote individual customer reviews, and we do not show star ratings or review counts because they change constantly.

What we do not do

  • We do not test products hands-on in a lab or at home, and our reviews do not claim that we did.
  • We do not accept payment from brands for reviews or rankings.
  • We do not show prices. Prices and availability change often, so please check the retailer for the current price.

How articles are written

Some of our articles were drafted with the help of AI writing tools working from the research sources above. Not every older article has been fully checked yet: we’re reviewing and rewriting them, and rewritten reviews show a “Last checked” date and a Sources list. If you find an error or an out-of-date detail, please tell us and we will correct it.

How we make money

As an Amazon Associate, Filtered Water Wise earns from qualifying purchases. Commissions never change what we write. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
